My Unforgettable Experience
I will never forget that day, that morning, that platform and that train…
I go at morning, and as usual, left home at about five to seven to catch the 7:09I will t up early th-train. However, the train happened to arrive at the station 3 minutes earlier that day. When I was on the first floor of the train station, I could hear the train rumbling over.
I don’t know why, but there seemed to be an impulse that urged me to run fast to try to get on that train. I saw the door closing slowly, and I stretched out my hand, hoping that I could manage to stop it from closing…
However, I slipped!
My left leg slipped into the gap between the train and the platform and I was trapped. The door had closed already. The conductor was quite away from me as well. At that moment, I could feel nothing, my brain was almost blank----all I wish was that the train please stop----if it moved, then I was sure to be rolled into the rails and was sure to die.
Marvellously, maybe it was the basic instinct that at that time helped me to get out of the gap, all by myself. I sat on the platform and saw the conductor running towards me, whistling. Just then, the train moved.
I began to feel frightened, pain and helpless. All those feelings seemed to come to me at the same time. It was at that moment that I realized how treasure life is.
How treasure life is.
The sudden attack on the United States this week shocked me deeply. When I heard the news, I just couldn’t believe my ears. But it was true. I saw on the TV screen the twin buildings of the World Trade Centre falling like toy building blocks. Clouds of smoke covered the blue sky, under which hundreds of men falling off the buildings just like dried leaves. People rushing, screaming——all the scenes that we could only see from those Hollywood thrilling movies came true. It was really a disaster.
No matter how rich, how noble, how intelligent you are, when the disaster came, everything disappeared in a minute. Money and name could be obtained, but for life, you could live only once.
