一个英语句子只能有一个谓语动词,这里是succeeded,而其他的动词只能用“非谓语”形式.非谓语形式包括ing 动词,不定式和分词.这里用了ing形式,作介词in的宾语.
再如： i like sing. 这句错了,因为like 和sing 两个都是动词,必须要把一个变成非谓语形式才对： i like singing/to sing.
