journey适用范围很广，可指陆上，海上或空中的旅行，一般指较远距离的旅行或路程、旅程，指单程。表示“去旅行”要说go on a journey. trip严格来讲应是指“短距离旅行”，目的可以是公事或娱乐，日常用语中可以与journey互换 travel一般是指到国外或远方旅行，不着重某一个目的地，有“游历”的意义，与journey的不同之处在与，它没有直接到达目的地的含义。travel作名词，表“旅游”这一总的概念或游记这类的书籍，常用复数。作动词应是，to travel比to journey普遍得多。但to make a trave和lto make a journey却都用得很普遍。 tour表示“周游”、“旅游”，主要指有组织、有目的的游览或视察，距离可长可短。
