Among the many methods of international trade settlement, L/C (Letter of Credit) is the most important tool for credit settlement. It has an incomparable advantage over other methods of payment, and is known as "the blood of international business". As an important method for trade payment, it will become more and more widely used. However, because of its own intrinsic defect, the different locations of the parties involved, the difference of law and regulations between countries and regions, and personal reasons, there is a greater risk of using L/C as a payment method. It produced a variety of letter of credit fraud, and greatly hampered the normal development of international trade. The article integrated the current fraudulent conduct produced by using L/C as payment method in international trade, and analyze the damage, cause and manner of L/C fraud in the form of case studies. The thesis focuses on addressing precautionary and remedial measures, and to express my point of view on this issue.
