other是修饰可数名词复数的。而且它并不是剩下的全部。而others=other+名词的复数。如：There are many students on the playground.Some are walking.Some are playing basketball.Others（Other students）are talking.
而the other既可以修饰可数名词的单数，还可以修饰可数名词的复数。它表示两部分当中剩下的另外一部分的全部。
如：I have two pens.One is red，the other is grey.
再如：I have three pens.One is red，the others are grey.
而another一般来说有两种含义。一种表示三者以上当中的另外一个。另外的意思是表示“再，又”之义。
