convince sb. that=sb. be convinced that...这里伴随状语（省略了he was） convinced that追问还是不懂，为什么不用convincing呢？主语he不与convince构成主动关系吗？追答主动的话，convince后面必须加人，原句是可以用主动的，但应该改成....under the ruins convincing himself that.....
