Asher Book takes center stage in a remake of the 1980 hit movie Fame*. As a rising star, Asher attracts much attention with his great performances in the movie.
The story of Fame is like Asher’s own: many teenagers try hard to survive four years at the famous New York City High School of Performing Arts (纽约市艺术高校); through huge efforts, some of them can finally enjoy being a success under the spotlight.
However, to Asher, it was a bittersweet experience to audition for Fame. At first, he was rejected. The minute he was told the news he was heartbroken. Asher had been fighting for the role for about six months. But he didn’t give up because he believed in himself. As a famous quote goes, “Life’s a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” Finally, Asher got his role in Fame as he had wished.
Asher is not only a talented actor but also a singer and accomplished electric guitarist. In 2006, he formed a band named V Factory with Jared Murillo* to realize his dream of making music. Now, V Factory is nominated for the 2009 StarShine Magazine Music Awards “Favorite Band/Group.” Their debut single “Love Struck” is nominated for “Best Dance Song.”
Can Asher win his first award in music? Well, that remains to be seen. But it’s obvious that Asher will enjoy earning more fame not only in acting, but in singing as well.
