All thanks to the mobile phone Dave Mill was saved by his mobile phone. He was attempting to walk to the North Pole alone. But after 50 days of very bad weather, he had to give up his attempt. He had completed about half of his journey and had several accidents before he found himself stranded on a floating piece of ice. The weather was too bad for the rescue planes to land. He took a photograph with his digital camera, then e-mailed it with his mobile phone to the waiting air rescue team. The pilot was able to land using the photograph and Dave was saved.
