I was out this afternoon and left my cell phone at home, thus I didn't pick up your call. And for your concern, I can give you some tips to help you getting closer with your new classmates. First, being new is awkward, then you have to communicate with others to get rid of awkwardness, you can basically talk about yourself, I bet them will be really interested in your stories. And also, you can join some clubs in the school, clubs always work as they bring people with same interests together so you can make friends there really fast.
