Dear Mr Cheng,
I'm very sorry to write and tell you that I can't go to school. Yesterday I didn't take an umbrella with me, so I was caught in the rain on my way home. I have got a serious cold. I felt really bad this morning. My mother took my temperature and found that I got a fever. She took me to see the doctor, and the doctor said that I had to stay in bed for two days.
Now I'm writing to you to ask for two days' sick leave, today and tomorrow.
