many后面跟可数名词或不可数名词
而a lot of后面必须跟不可数名词。
many只能修饰可数名词的复数,
还有,a lot of 可以修饰比较级,而many不可以.
a lot of 可以用以简略回答,而many不可以
例如:What have you learnt for this week?
I have learnt a lot.
Modern technology has opened our eyes to many things.
现代科技开阔了我们的眼界，让我们了解了许多事物。
I'm having to make a lot of presumption since I don't really know anything about the case.
事实上我对这个案件一无所知，很多观点都只能是假设。
