This role is focused on "raising the technical bar" for the Advanced Systems Group Systems Consultants through individual and group interactions. The ideal candidate must be considered an "experienced" expert in the following areas of technology: - In-depth technology knowledge of SAN and related technologies - In-depth technology knowledge of NAS - both embedded OS and dedicated micro-kernel versions - Knowledge of Brocade and McData Fibre Channel switching technology - Strong knowledge of Intel architecture based host systems - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows NT4, Windows 2000 and Netware - Good understanding of popular Unix based host systems including but not limited to Linux and Solaris - Good understanding of Business Continuity Planning related technologies including: a) Disaster recovery strategies b) Mirroring of data via hardware and software methods c) Snapshots and related technologies and applications d) Concept of Clones (as compared to snapshots and mirrors) e) Backup strategies and applications - Veritas BackupExec and CA ArcServe are must f) Restoration techniques Main job responsibility is to support remote Systems Consultants by answering technical questions and presenting technology related materials. Strong candidate must - Be able to understand and explain related technical issues. - Be able to assist Systems Consultant with fully understanding customer's requirements and architecting solutions to meet those requirements. - Have a strong knowledge of Dell segment sales procedures, Dell products, and any potential applications. - Possess good organizational and long-range planning skills and exceptional verbal and written communications skills. - Also have strong presentation skills. - Have proven technical/presentation and selling ability in previous job level. Candidate need to travel to customer sites when appropriate. Prefer a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 5+ years experience in computers, networking, storage, or related field.
