in order to+动词原形和so as to+动词原形 都可以放在句中。

She got up early in order to / so as to catch the first bus. 她早早起了床以便赶上头班车 。

The doctors gave her a general checkup so as to/ in order to find out the cause of her illness. 医生给她做了全身检查， 以便找出她的病因。

in order to  可以放在句首，而so as to 则不可。

so that  可以接目的状语从句,也就是说能接句子.

so as to 不可以接目的状语从句,也就是说不能接句子.因为是不定式to do,后面只能接动词原型.

in order to  也是不定式to do,后面只能接动词原型,但可以放句首作目的状语,但so as to不可以放句首.
