Thank you for your congratulations. I was very excited when I heard that Beijing won the bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. Immediately I called Wei Guo and Li Hong to my house. After a brief discussion we decided to put up a wall newspaper for our class. We hurried to our classroom and began to work. Wei Guo wrote a poem. Li Hong copied some news from the newspapers. I drew an Olympic flag. The next Monday, our classmates were both surprised and overjoyed when they saw the wall newspaper.

Learning from model studentsThere are a lot of students in my class, but I think Jim is the top one. He is really the soul in my heart due to his excellent behavior. He does well in every subject. I appreciate him very much. I can learn from him many things. For example, he regards all his classmates as his best friends. He is warm-hearted and when someone is in trouble, he always helps them. He is so kind and friendly that he has gained the support of everyone.In short , he is a real model student. School lifeAlthough our school life is modern, but I think that there are still some necessary changes. First of all, our lunch is not very delicious and healthy. Shanghai is a modern city, and it’s also my hometown. There are many places of interest in Shanghai, such as the Bund,Yu Garden and Nanjing Road. Tourists can enjoy shopping in Shanghai, and having local snacks as well. The night views of Shanghai is fantastic, you can watch the beautiful lights and you can also take a ferry to visit the Huang pu River. As you can see, Shanghai is such a great city that I love it so much. My favourite seasonThere are four seasons in all every year. But my favourite season is the third one, autumn. Many Chinese poets in ancient time thought autumn was a season of sorrow (悲伤) because most plants start withering (枯萎) at this time and they wrote . In my opinion, it is a season that full of harvest and happiness. Farmers' one-year hard work can pay off. Tourists can enjoy a peaceful and enjoyable journey. Students can go to school after having a fantastic summer holiday. We also can do some sports in autumn. That' s why I think autumn is my favourite season. Water is importantPeople can' t live without water, so water is so important to us. People use water in many different ways, but sometimes they waste it. We should save water. We should take a shower instead of a bath. We shouldn' t turn on the tap when we' re brushing our teeth. We shouldn' t pollute the water. We mustn' t leave rubbish. I think everyone should try his best to save water because it' s important to us. My ideal schoolIn my mind, my ideal school is really amazing. It has five big campuses. There is a swimming pool in each campus. There are beautiful gardens which are full of colorful flowers at the back yard of the school. There is also a huge playground for us to play. In my ideal school, students don' t need to get up early. We can get up at 8. We could have delicious food and snacks at school. And last but not least, we could have less homework.This is the ideal school in my mind.

母亲节我为母亲祈祷
how does a daughter begin to thank her mother for life itself? for the love, patience and just plain hard work that go into raising a child? for running after a toddler, for understanding a moody teenager, for tolerating a college student who knows everything? for waiting for the day when a daughter realizes her mother really is?
now that i am no longer young, i have friends whose mothers have passed away. i have heard these sons and daughters say they never fully appreciated their mothers until it was too late to tell them. 
how does a grown woman thank for a mother for continuing to be a mother? for being ready with advice(when asked)or remaining silent when it is most appreciated? for not saying:"i told you so", when she could have uttered these words dozens of times? for being essentially herself －－loving, thoughtful, patient, and forgiving?
 i am blessed with the dear mother who is still alive. i appreciate her more each day. my mother does not change, but i do. as i grow older and wiser, i realize what an extraordinary person she is. how sad that i am unable to speak these words in her presence, but they flow easily from my pen.
