Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American inventor and entrepreneur. He was co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Jobs was co-founder and previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of the Walt Disney Company in 2006, following the acquisition of Pixar by Disney.

In the late 1970s, Jobs — along with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Mike Markkula and others — designed, developed, and marketed one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers, the Apple II series. After losing a power struggle with the board of directors in 1985, Jobs left Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in the higher-education and business markets.

In 1986, he acquired the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm Ltd, which was spun off as Pixar Animation Studios. He was credited in Toy Story (1995) as an executive producer. He remained CEO and majority shareholder at 50.1 percent until its acquisition by The Walt Disney Company in 2006,[8] making Jobs Disney's largest individual shareholder at seven percent and a member of Disney's Board of Directors.Apple's 1996 buyout of NeXT brought Jobs back to the company he co-founded, and he served as its interim CEO from 1997, then becoming permanent CEO from 2000 onwards, spearheading the advent of the iPod, iPhone and iPad.[11].During this time, he also fought an eight year battle with cancer,[12] eventually leading to his resignation as CEO in August 2011, during his third medical leave. Jobs was elected chairman of Apple's board of directors.

On October 5, 2011, Jobs died at his home in Palo Alto, California, age 56. A copy of his death certificate, which was made public on October 10, indicated he died about 3:00 p.m. on October 5, and listed respiratory arrest as the immediate cause of death, with "metastatic pancreas neuroendocrine tumor" as the underlying cause. His occupation was listed as "entrepreneur" in the "high tech" business. He was widely described as a visionary, pioneer and genius — perhaps one of the foremost — in the field of business, innovation, and product design, and a man who had profoundly changed the face of the modern world, revolutionized at least six different industries, and who was an "exemplar for all chief executives".

以AbrahamLincoln的生平为例:An Act of Kindness President Abraham Lincoln often visitedhospitals to talk with wounded soldiersduring the Civil War.Once, doctors pointedout a young soldier who was near death and Lincoln went overto his bedside. "Is there anything I can do for you?" asked the President. The soldier obviouslydidn't recognize Lincoln, and with some effort he was able to whisper,"Would you please write a letter to my mother?" A pen and paper were provided and the President carefully began writing down what the young man was able to say: "My dearest mother, Iwas badly hurt while doing my duty. I'm afraid I'm not going to recover. Don't grieve too much for me, please. Kiss Maryand John for me. May God bless you and father." The soldier was too weak to continue, so Lincoln signed the letter for him and added, "Written for your son by Abraham Lincoln." The young man asked to see the note and was astonished when he discovered who hadwritten it. "Are you really the President?" he asked. "Yes I am," Lincoln replied quietly. Thenhe asked if there wasanything else he could do. "Would you please hold my hand?" the soldier asked. "It will help to see me through to the end." In the hushed room, the tall gaunt President took the boy's hand in his andspoke warm words of encouragement until death came.

楼上的同学难道不看题吗……只写了生平没写性格,本末倒置啊。 steve jobs was a hard-working businessman, whose success depends on his spirit of keeping on going and not giving up.he devoted all his life and passion to the promotion of computer science and therefore earned great reputation throughout the world.in addition to his dilligence,he was also a kind but strict boss for his clerks and was admired by all his staff.he was easy-going as well.in short,he was a great man with great characters. 可能不够长,见谅。自己写的。
