What's the focus of this major?
You'll learn all the key skills and competencies you need to become a professional Civil Engineer (as in the Civil Major), but will exchange some subjects to specialise in water engineering, learning about water resource management.

In addition to the introductory subjects on urban water systems and flood protection common to all civil engineers, this specialisation will deepen your knowledge of the quantity and quality of water in surface and groundwater systems, and give you the analytical and practical skills to help find solutions to the issues of drought, salinisation and flood affecting Australia today.
Where will I work?
This specialisation has been developed in response to a national and international demand for water engineers, which is high and likely to continue given the increasing water management problems throughout the world.
You can work in any of the areas open to all civil engineers, and are most likely to find opportunities with:

> Engineering consultancies specialising in water

> Catchment authorities, such as Catchment Management Authorities or the Murray Darling Basin Authority
Government agencies, such as Sydney Water, Hunter Water, State Water, Department of Natural Resources or the Department of Commerce.

不是很清楚civil water具体是干什么的，很犹豫是否转去civil construction 或者structure，请有经验的帮我一下。下面是civil water的一些简介。本来是以为water treatment之类的，不过好像不是一回事儿，对urban water的几乎没有任何了解。

如果是给排水专业的学生在中国大概也是分为：水处理、和给排水；
水处理主要的研究对象是：水库、污水处理、净化水工厂等...
给排水（civil water）的研究对象是：工业民用建筑的给排水系统等...
在中国civil water的工作比水处理好找，我只能这么说....
