From Shy Girlto Pop Star
1 For this month’s Young World magazine, I interviewed 19-year-oldAsian pop star Candy Wang. Candy told me that she used to be really shy and took upsinging to deal with her shyness. As she got better, she dared to sing in front ofher class, and then for the whole school. Now she’s not shy anymore and loves singingin front ofcrowds.
2 I asked Candy how life was different after she became famous. Sheexplained that there are many good things, like being able to travel and meet newpeople all the time. “I didn’t use to be popular in school, but now I get tons ofattention everywhere I go.” However, too much attention can also be a bad thing. “I always have to worry about how I appear to others and I have to be verycareful about what I say or do. And I don’t have much private time anymore.Hanging out withfriends is almost impossible for me now because there arealways guards around me.”
3 What doesCandy have to say to all those young people who want tobecome famous? “Well,” she begins slowly, “you have tobe prepared to give up your normal life. You can neverimagine how difficult the road to success is. Many times Ithought about giving up, but I fought on. You reallyrequire a lot of talent and hard work to succeed. Only a verysmall number of people make it to the top.”

my biggest problem
my biggest problem is that i'm too busy. when young, i used to have so much time,but these days i get up early and stay in school all day.then i go right home and dinner.before i started high school, i used to spend a lot of time playing games with my friends, but i just don't have the time anymore. in the evening, i used to watch tv or chat with my grangmother, but now i have to study. i love music, and my father used to take me to concerts. these days, i hardly ever have time for concerts. i do my homework and go to bed.i really miss the old days.
