■week有两重含义。

any period of seven days 一周；七天的时间
例句：
The course lasts five weeks.
这门课程上五周。
a week ago today (= seven days ago)
一周前的今天
the five days other than Saturday and Sunday （除星期六和星期日以外的）五天
例句：
I never have the time to go out in the week .
我从星期一到星期五从来没有时间外出参加社交活动。
■weekend
指Saturday and Sunday 星期六和星期日；周末
例句：
Have a good weekend!
周末愉快！
It happened on the weekend of 24 and 25 April.
