这句话中的say用say这种形式对吗？不需要换成saying吗？

这是一个美国电影中的一句话

What if we were to transfer the consciousness of one person，say a father of four with terminal cancer，into the body of this man?
第一个逗号之后的say不需要改成非谓语动词吗？直接用动词原型也对？

像这种的句子，在句子中间前后用逗号和主句隔开的，什么情况下用非谓语动词，什么情况下用动词原形？因为有的时候说要用非谓语动词像这句话又用动词原形我就觉得很乱搞不清楚！

此处的 say的意思是“比如说/姑且说/假定说”，应该直接用动词原形，不能改为saying。


另如：

Say your plan fails, then what do we do?（假定你的计划失败了, 那末我们怎么办呢?）

Let's say that you're right. 我们假设你是对的。
