一、so such的用法
1、表程度的so的用法是：so+形容词+a/an+名词（必然是单数了）可以说：so beautiful a flower
2、表程度的so不能用于表示：so+形容词+可数名词复数、不可数名词，如果非要加不可数名词或名词复数的话，只能转换成，如flowers are so beautiful，或者weather is so terrible这样的句子。所以：so beautiful flowers，so terrible weather是错误的，应改成such beautiful flowers，such terrible weather。当然也不直接说so beautiful country应该说成so beautiful a country。
3、such还可以直接跟名词，如：such fools而不能说so fools
二、how，what引导感叹句的用法。
1、how beautiful a picture it is. 但不可以说how beautiful pictures they are, how必须改为what。所以how+形容词+a/an+名词+（it is）。
2、在比如：what fools they are, fools为名词复数。
what a mess, mess 为不可数名词，但前面必须有a。
三、从以上来看，how和so的用法相似
1、其实，he is so bad-tempered就等于how bad-tempered he is.
但是我们不能说成he is so bad-tempered person可以说成he is so bad-tempered a man或者he is such a bad-tempered man或者how bad-tempered he is 或者what a bad-tempered man he is。
2、so虽然不直接加形容词+名词的结构，但是so many，so much，so few， so little却可以和名词（可数，不可数连用），但是这种用法不能算是so的用法，而是这四个词组的用法而已，例句如下：
I bought so many books.
There were so few interesting books.
I've read so much and learnt so little.

such 和what 后边所跟的词性类似；so 和how 后边跟的词一样,形容词，副词。
比如：such a good book,such interesting books,what a good day, what interesting books they are!最后一句what 修饰books,而不是修饰interesting;
so good a book,
how cold it is,
how good a book it is!
the book is so good,
how cold it is,
how good a book it is!

such 和 what 的用法类似，强调修饰的名词，而so 和 how 类似强调形容词。

1.what与how
都是疑问词。简单说，what一般是名词性质，做主语、宾语、表语，how一般是副词性质，做状语。
e.g. what is your name?（表语）
what are you going to do?(宾语）
how do you like the book?（状语）
2.such...that.../so...that.../so that...
such...that...和so...that...都是“如此……以至于……”的意思,不同的是so后面接形容词或副词，such的固定搭配是“such + a/an + 形容词 + 名词”
e.g. you are so lovely （a girl) that i would like to be friends with you. (括号里的表示可省略）
you are such a lovely girl that i would like to be friends with you.
so that...是“为了……”、“以至于……”的意思，可引导表目的的状语从句或表结果的状语从句。接表目的的状语从句时，从句中有情态动词；接表结果的状语从句时，从句中没有情态动词。
e.g. i need to hurry up so that i could get there on time.(so that 引导表目的的状语从句）
i woke up at 8:30 so that i was late for the class.

so相当于how的用法，so/how后面直接加形容词。
