comment：“解释、评论、批评”，指对事物进行的批评和解释说明，也指在阐述某事时所发表的议论或意见。
She felt that her own conduct must be carefully regulated so as not to give rise to a breath of adverse comments.她感到自己的行为必须多加注意，以免引起他人的非议。
commentary：“注释、按语、评语、解说词”，还常指对文章、教材及文学作品等所作的解释或评语。
The translation is good,but its usefulness could have been enhanced by a commentary.译文水平属上乘，但若加上注释则会更有帮助。

首先，comment和remark既是动词又是名词，commentary和illustration是名词 comment：平价，评论 eg:thisis the first draft of the book.please feel perfectly free to *comment on* it.(comment可与on搭配） commentary（对书籍等的）评语，评注，评论；实况报道 eg:stop shouting!i can\'t hear the football *commentary*. illustration插图，图解；例证，说明----强调“例” remark<n>议论，评论；注意，留意
