著名作家叶圣陶先生在《桌米》一文中，写农民大清早到河埠头后、急切询问米价，同米行先生进行了这样的对话：
“糙米五块：谷三块。”米行里的先生有气无力地回答他们。
“什么！旧毡帽朋友几乎不相信他们的耳朵，美满的希望突地一沉，大家都呆了。
“在六月里，你们不是卖十三块吗？”
“十五块也卖过，不要说十三块。”
“哪里有跌得这样历害的？”
“现在是什么时候，你们不知道吗？各处的米像潮水一样涌来，隔几天还要跌呢！”
“还是不要粜的好。我们摇回去放在家里吧！”从简单的心里喷出了这样激愤的话。
“嗤，”先生冷笑着，“你们不粜，人家就饿死了吗？各地方多的是洋米洋面，头几批还没吃完，外洋大轮船又有几批运来”。

孙膑招呼田忌过来，拍着他的肩膀，说：“从刚才的情形看，齐威王的马比你的快不了多少呀。”
