Disposable plastic Bags(讲一次性塑料袋)

With more importance being attached to environment protection, people begin to search for different ways to keep our environment from being polluted. Among these measures, limiting the use of disposable plastic bags is of outstanding importance in my view. There are two justifications listed to support my standpoint.
First, individually speaking, to limit the use of disposable plastic bags can greatly relieve the burden of our surrounding environment, especially the burden of the soil. It's a fact commonly acknowledged that disposable plastic bags are hard to be broken down. In the recent decades, abusing disposable plastic bags has given rise to the occurrence of the "white pollution", which causes many chain reactions and does harm to our health finally.
Second, compared with using disposable plastic bags, taking advantage of cloth bags or other environment friendly bags can save a considerable sum of money in the long run. Although the fee of a disposable plastic bag is very low, yet it's a fairly money-costing business as well as a waste of resource if we use disposable plastic bags frequently . Imagine that every person uses at least one disposable plastic bag per day and then one multiplys the huge number of the population on our Earth, how many disposable plastic bags are used and how much they cost each day? Each year? The answer is strikingly terrible!
Although it's relatively convenient for people to use disposable plastic bags when they are shopping, the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages. Limiting the use of disposable plastic bags complys well with the strategy of sustainable development and contributes to the construction of a resource-saving and environment friendly world. For the sake of our next generation and the future of our communal and unique homestead---the Earth, please, try your best to avoid using disposable plastic bags!
Bloom from the Rubble

We will never forget the day, May 12, 2008, a powerful earthquake hit Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, killing at least 69,000, less than three months before China hosted the world in the 2008 Summer Olympics. I believed I saw the tears of China. Tears flowed for mothers desperately shouting their children's names, many never to be answered; Tears flowed for those buried in an instant, for the injured, for the ruins, and for the once vibrant land tainted with blood.
I don’t know how many houses were destroyed, but I do know many people lost their home; I don’t know how many schools collapsed, but I do know at that time many classrooms were full of students; I don’t know whether the hands under the ruins belong to a boy or a girl, but I do know the hands were eager to hug their parents again. So many children, vigorous and innocent, lost their lives in a split second, which aroused great sadness in their parents, as well as in us.
The earthquake was really a war in the peace time.
It brought us Chinese great grief together with great love upon each other. We united as one and hugged tightly, with the strong faith that we do have the power to pass through it.
A three-day period of national mourning was then held for the tens of thousands of quake victims; On MSN, many netizens added a green silk ribbon before their signatures, symbolizing their hope and blessings for the people suffering from the disaster; National flags fluttered at half staff; Website logos were black, the color of May 12, when a catastrophic quake in southwest China changed the fate of millions…
Today, Wenchuan is not only the name of a place―it is the name of everybody. 240,000 living souls disappeared in the Tangshan Earthquake, but from there a new life bloomed. Life is not only breathing and heart beating, nor is death the final frontier of life. Our beloved ones have not left us, and everything will continue. In the resonance of infants' cries in the rubble, a new life named "Wenchuan" is born today.
It's not easy, however, to be alive. It requires even more courage and wisdom to live better to comfort our beloved ones. With all the tough challenges coming our way, we need to put aside our emotions and face them with calm and reasoning.
May the deceased rest in peace!
Those who are still alive, dry your tears, and carry on!

2.Is a test of spoken English Necessary(讲英语口语考试)
A test of spoken English will be included as a component of College English Test. Many people consider it necessary to adopt such a test. For one thing, fluent speaking ability is badly needed in today’s society, a society that is experiencing reform and wider opening to the outside world. For another, in a more competitive society such as ours today, fluent spoken English usually becomes that ounce more advantage you have to beat your rivals in competing for a position having much appeal for both of you. All these point to the indispensability of a spoken English test.
Some people, however, take a different attitude. They regard the test as being unnecessary. Fluent spoken English, they argue, does not necessarily mean bringing a better job, for sometimes, opportunity plays a more important role. Furthermore, many people do not use spoken English at all in their work.
Personally speaking, I am really in favor of the test because it can encourage college students to try every means to improve their spoken English, which will benefit them forever. Thus I decide to make use of every opportunity to practise my spoken English, and surely it will do me much good.
