also 表示“也，而且，同样”，通常放在肯定句中，放在be动词，情态动词或者助动词之后，放在实义动词之前。比如：

i also can speak chinese.

一点区别没有。怎么适合自己的语气怎么说。两种用法都要习惯。
类似的还有only这个词，也是一样的。
另外，also 任何时候都可以放到句尾变成 as well.
再有就是，如果句子前面还有连词，only , also还可以往主语前面放。
eg. if only you say a word, i shall go.
if you only say a word, i shall go.
