want是实义动词，可单独做谓语，当变化为疑问句时，前面要用do作为助动词。追问为什么前面要用do做助动词呢？能说说吗追答这个是英语语法的固定用法，没办法解释，你记住这个规律就可以了。

不可以，因为want 是行为动词，所以要用助动词do; 若是be 动词，就要用be 动词的适当形式构成疑问句。如：
Do you agree? When did he know it? Does he know? Is he ill? Are they doctors? How is he?
