两者意思都一样，区别只是 winter vocation (英式) 用的比较少，而且有带薪休假的意思，用在学生身上也可以，只是有点别扭。 winter break(美式) 因为寒假相对而言比较短。所以用break 楼上的说法我不认同，据我所知美国高校的寒假通知都是用的winter break,一般从12月十几号到1月的二十多号，一个多月。欧洲足球的圣诞节前后的休战也用winter break，翻译成“冬歇期”。
