超额需求(俗称供不应求)是指: 在某一价格下,需求量 > 供给量

在市场经济体系中,供需法则决定了价格与数量,问题中有超额需求产生时,表示市场价格处於低位,供给量也因此不振,在这种供不应求的窘境下,需求价格必定上扬,以求获得稀少的供给量,当需求价格攀升之际,同时诱使了生产者增加供给量,以换取更多的利益,最后,供需双方在一定的数量下达到平衡,此时的市场价格,称为均衡价格,超过或低於这个价格,供需双方则会重新再展开一连串的价量周旋.
