affair eg. pensonal affair 貌似讲个人的比较多 incident主要是指附带的, 外来的, 易于发生的的事件 matter n. 事情, 物质, 问题, 重要性 eg.what's the matter? thing 主要是指实际存在的事物 P.S.希望对你有用

incident 是小的事情或者政治事件
he remembered every incident in great detail.
event历史性的、政治性的、对社会具有影响的大事件，强调其影响的深远性
this is the place that all the important events take place.一切重大的活动都在这举行.
affair指的是一系列的事情或事件
the premier deals with important affairs of state.总理处理国家重要事务。
