maybe是副词，意思与perhaps相同，为可能，也许，maybe用在informal, conversational English中居多，常放在句首，也可做单句回答，也可放句子后面。
eg.
Maybe no one will come to the party.
—There’s something wrong with my PC. I can't load my photos.
—It could be a virus, maybe.
—Do you think he will handle it?

may be是情态动词+be动词，如can be, could be，可译为 可能是，或许是
eg.
