By viewing the human history, we can trace the first Olympic Game to 776BC. The early Olympic Games, so called Acient Olympic Games, were held by acient Greece. Its initial aim was to enhance the toughness of human body, which was essential for wars at that time. Many of the sports were the same as they are now. Some of the games in which the young men competed were: running, jumping and wrestling. Women were not allowed to take part in the games. The winner of the games was rewarded by an olive crown as it's said to be a symbol of the blessing from the gods.However, the Acient Olympic Games were abolished by Emperor Theodosius for being too pagan in 393AD.
In 1896, thanks to the great efforts of Frenchman Pierre de Coubertin, Dimitrios Vikelas, and other contributors, the first Modern Olympic Games were held in the country of their birth. The Greek nation and the whole world embraced their revival and once again turned them into the greatest celebration on earth. In the century to follow, the Games has traveled to countries all around the world , attracting the eyes of billions'.
